You’re invited to participate in a “Cottage Meeting” with Pastor Schaeffer and other members of St. James.
It’s an informal visit with pastor and other members as we celebrate God’s faithfulness to the people of St. James these past ninety years; reminisce and reflect on the highs and lows of St. James’ past; express our hopes about its future ministry; and pray for God’s continued blessings on St. James for another ninety years!
There will be a timeline beginning at 1929 (when the congregation was birthed) to April 2019. Everyone will be given an opportunity to share meaningful moments or events they’ve experienced at St. James. There may be some laughs and maybe even some tears, but it will be an enriching time of sharing. Everyone will be invited to talk about their hopes for St. James’ future mission and ministry.
Five cottage meetings have been scheduled so that as many people as possible can participate in them:
Wednesday April 24 at 7pm
Thursday April 25 at 1pm
Sunday April 28 at 6:30pm
Monday April 29 at 7:15pm
Tuesday April 30 at 10:30am
Please sign up with the signup sheets outside Pastor Schaeffer’s study. All cottage meetings will be held at the church. Refreshments will be served. The meeting will be about 2 hours in length depending on the size of the group and how talkative everyone is. We will offer childcare as needed, so please, let us know if you will need this service.
There will be a Grand Finale Celebration and Sharing on Saturday May 4th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We will highlight what participants have shared in the cottage meetings; reflect on it together and discuss future directions for St. James. Mark this date on your calendar and plan to attend.
