Items needed for the Food pantry are: pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned meat, cereal, soup, veggies, mac & cheese, paper products, and hygiene supplies. If you can help out, the food pantry drop off box is in the Gathering Room on the shelves. Monetary donations are welcome and can be indicated by specifying “Food Pantry” on the check or envelope. Please check the dishes in the main entry at church next time you are there. Could they perhaps be yours from a previous potluck or funeral luncheon? If they are used for the church, please let Sue and/or Bee know. If not, we could use the space and if there are no takers, they will go into the 2nd Best Sale.
Lent begins February 22, 2012 with the Ash Wednesday Communion service at 7:00 p.m. Supper is at 6:00 p.m.
6th, 7th, AND 8th Grade Catechism classes will meet TOGETHER at 5:00 p.m. this evening. Everyone will make it home in plenty of time to watch the Super Bowl.
The Dorcas ladies are going out to lunch. A heartfelt invitation is extended to all the women of the congregation to join our Dorcas ladies as they celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special luncheon. Lutheran World Relief is gathering these in the months of January & February. See a good white sale? Pick up a blanket or two for the drive. Used blankets and quilts are welcome but must be in good condition and measure at least 60″ x 80.” Donations may be placed in the box in the church entryway across from the office.
